DAD,
i remember
every single detail. every single drop of tear. every painful torture u put me through. every moment.
did u remember all that dad? i was never good enough. never smart enough. and now, not respectful enough.

when i was born,
mummy wanted to give me away. u disagree. u wanted me. u kept me. u fought for me.when i was still too young to understand, i watched mummy cry because of u. i didnt understand. but i felt it. every tear she shed. it broke my heart. because of u. i feared u. i remembered how i could never sit in a room with u. all i remembered was the rotan cutting my skin with every whip. still i respected u. oblivious.

when i was 13,
u left. without a word. without a sign. without taking anything along. u left. u left us with noting. u left mummy with more n more burden. u left me with tears. every morning. every night i cried. like an orphan whose father just died.

2 years later,
i remembered e smile on ur face when u saw me. i didnt. i wouldnt. u dun deserve anything. nothing. i didnt salam u. just tried acting. my facade worked.

Now,
u still dun realise huh? demanding for respect. screaming at mummy for every single thing. it was u. it had always been u. i respected u. feared u. but why should i. when u are the coward. u should respect us for pulling through all ur shit.

so happy fathers day, dad.
enjoy. ps:
its been a long hard road without u by myside
Why weren't you there all the nights that we cried?
You broke my mother's heart, you broke your children for life
It's not OK but we're alright

Anahraf El Diab
I wish i could say that i'm unique and different but that would be a lie. from my mom, i stole her features, her attitude and 1/5 of her strength. i kinda ripped of my dad's hairstyle and that obviously isnt a choice. i think i would be a fashion disaster or a real girly girl if it werent for my brother and thank god for that. at the same time, i would have been naive and maybe a boy if it werent for my sister. hur hur. the rest of me, i picked it up somewhere along the way thru my 19 years old journey and that is what u gotta find out.
